Possession
Is
This

The foaming sea caressing
And filling the wind hewn cavern
Unasked and without mercy
The ashy volcanic froth pursuing
And engulfing every living thing
Before searing and burning it into submission
The snakes’ jaws bearing upon its prey
Squeezing lifeless the unknown
A boulder crushing an ant
In an instant of nothingness

My love for you
Consuming my soul
Held between every beat of my heart
Being expelled from my lungs
With every waking and sleeping breath
My mind pulsating with thoughts
Of your every move
Bursting through my fingertips
When I touch your skin
The heat of your smile
The scent of your desire
Is with me
Every moment
I exist

This
Is
Possession

Oh Jon,

If only I could capture a man's heart like this...I seem to be the one with the emotions you display in this poem and end up with nothing but a memory of what it wasn't.  You keep my hope alive... Great Work!  --Jamie

Wow Jon this is fantastic!!!  My favorite part is:
"My love for you
Consuming my soul
Held between every beat of my heart..."

How beautifully romantic!!!

I agree totally with Jonas on this one. I totally wish I had written that. the things i liked about this poem are too numerous to mention, but let's just say that not only is it about possession but it passion, desire, and all those intense feelings that we crave when they,re not around but loathe when they return.

"Be yourself... No matter what they say"

Thanks everyone.
I'm really glad I came to the pub.
You are all very kind with your words.

Yeah, I wish I had written this too--like about a million other poems posted here at the Pub...but this is one of those that I REALLY wish I'd written!   Incredible job with this, Jon!
Okay, now where's that 'Print' button...
