This isn't my own work, it was what was put on my friends funeral notice. She died at the age of 17 of cystic fibrosis. She was waiting for another double lung transplant. She had gone through one her 8th grade year, but was in need of another. She always had a smile on her face and never complained. She always expected to do all that was expected. She never thought that she should do less.

God looked around His garden,
and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you,
and lifted you to rest;
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the bes.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
So He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered "Peace by thine."
It broke our hears to lose you,
but you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

Losing someone you care about is very painful, I think moreso when they are so young.  I too am sorry for you loss.  The poem is beautiful.  Thank you for sharing it with us.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Melody.

This poem really hit home. I lost a friend of mine a long time ago to CF. He was only 15. The real tragedy was that his younger brother had it too--knowing that he'd soon follow--died a year later.
