By love I've been betrayed.
The pain is deep and fast.

If the sea should betray
the beach it kisses thus,
would the sand disolve at once,
And barren ground emerge?

If the stars betrayed the moon,
would day be all we see?

If winter betrayed the spring,
would chill winds ever blow?

So as the beach, the moon,
and spring ....

I shall prevail....
I shall go on!

Oh, Ellie!  How can such beauty come out of such pain?  You will go on, and you will be stronger still.  hugs

Dear Ellie,
Too often in the experience of personal dissapointments and woes- feelings take overand pain rules & prevails, reasoning and thought get subdued by the dark & dread.  But you look to be demonstrating a beautiful rationale and attitude in dealing with such.
It is not a denial of reality, but of the triumph of faith & hope and determination over the wreckages of time.
Keep that attitude! You are a survivor---
You will be a Winner!!!
God Bless you & Keep you strong,
             David

Than where Hearts knit as
one,
For in that grand
experience,
The Better ALL become.

God Bless us All!!!

the worst of all transgressions is the betrayal by a loved one..someone we trusted..it is no accident that the bible makes a point of this in the new testament when Judas betrays Christ. this piece addresses the pain of such a betrayal very nicely..well done, gentle lady.

A wonderfully uplifting and philosophical poem!  I love the thought about the stars betraying the moon.  Wonderfully put.  Thanks so much for the read!

Very well expressed, Ellie. I'm sorry for your painful trial. Yes, you will prevail, I've no doubt about that. HUGS
