I.  Yellow Tomatoes Blues

Tomatoes farmers unite,
     yellow ones, customers’ delight.

Line them up in pretty rows,
look at the lovely golden glow

Good cash crop you understand,
plant them all across the land.

Today there is a yellow glut,
so now what is all the fuss?

Crush-mash, splash of blue,
this will attract the customers too.

Line those pretty bottles up,
they are full of green ketchup!

II.  Crack-up in Aisle Five

Attention! All sales associates.
Clean-up crew!
We need a mop-up on aisle five.

Another hysterical customer
with major sensory overload;
that is laughing
till she is crying,
as she rocks down the row.
Another puddle of tears!
Oh dear!
What is a store to do?
With this situation,
a daily aggravation,
ever since we stocked
green ketchup on aisle five.

Attention! All sales associates.
Again, we need the clean-up crew.

simply wacky and goofy and wonderfully delightful! I love your sense of humor!

Ah! Just one problem after another in the supermarket business!      Thanks for the colorfully hilarious look at a normally mundane place.

Haven't seen this green ketchup, but of course my husband does the grocery shopping, and maybe he is used to such stuff as he loves fried green tomatoes. Myself I am longing for a green tomato pie, just like my mother used to make.  Keep writing, enjoyed your sense of humor.
