My wife's car's now out of the shop
For body work that darn deer caused,
And why she lets me drive it still
For the reason, I'm at a loss!

But it is with misgivings
That I get behind the wheel,
There's those unpleasant memories
That uneasiness is what I feel.

The shop did us a fine job
It looks as good as new,
But after I've been driving it--
Will that still be true???

I think she's got it figured out
That her chauffeur I became,
That if anything should happen
She'd still have ol' me to blame.

I have no chauffeur's license
But at this, I will not balk,
For she'd say, "No, you don't have to,
If you would  much rather walk!"

For in that grand

The Better ALL become.

Good luck to you and the car. I think I've seen some type of device that you put on your car and it makes a sound that scares the deer away.

LOL...great read David..we always wind up getting the blame no matter what we do..

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

David,

This is really cute. I enjoyed it a lot. Someday I hope to have a chauffer to drive me around and to take the blame for hitting the deer.

Oh deer!  I see the accident hurt more than the car.  Nice to know you and the car are feeling better, and that you still have your sense of humor intact.

I am glad that you and your family were not hurt in this encounter.  I see my four legged friends along the road almost every day. I too wish someone would teach them how to cross the road....safely.
