A timelessness prevails,
just before dawn,
when all the world
goes perfectly still.
A mystical quiet.
This is when the fairies
end their dance,
and quiet their songs,
and grant their wishes.

As the palest of light
turns the sky
a translucent blue,
and stillness grows
even deeper,
and all you can see
is the effervescent
shimmer of dew
that kisses their
tiny wings.
Then they wait.
It is their
bated breath
that stills this time
of day.
Waiting for those
who believe,
to utter a fervent
wish,
that the fairies
only grant,
that magical hour
before dawn!

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Simply enchanting Ellie!  I usually get up with the sun, but guess who will be setting her alarm a wee bit earlier now.... I love this beautiful little story.  Bonnie

Hi ellie, I've made my wish list!
Lovely, mystical poem with a translucent blue sky.
Just beautiful.    Love, Marcy

Ellie,
You've transported me into an alter world which I can see so clearly through the special windows of expressiveness you have brought me to- very enchanting!

Believe it or not, three hours ago when I wrote "There Is Love", I wished that I would be able to write one poem as I was waking up. And guess what?

Well, I guess fairies are very gracious to sleepy dragons.   Beautiful poem, Ellie!!

Moves with the rhymes' flow.

Though my body be
Human, my heart and soul be
That of a dragon.

Yes, the word "enchanting" fits this poem to a T!
