Alone

Alone in my world tonight,
Neither wrong nor right,
For my life I must fight,
Finish college make something of myself,
Doctors, illness, a van I cant drive,
My needs and goals just dont jive.
Oh to be free of this pain,
Emotional, Physical its all the same,
Someone to listen, someone to care,
So busy with their own lives,
There's just no one there.
When will it be my turn to have someone care?
When will you decide you can be there?
Alone in my world today,
Guess it'll always be this way..

I think aloneness is good sometimes, I like it. But being alone is another matter. Your poem is quite sad...it's good that you can voice your feelings this way. There are so many people who would love for YOU to reach out to them too..reaching is a two way street...Nice to read you!

Well, despite the fact that this poem is kinda sad, you must be very happy...because you write a lot better than 1/3 as good as me!   If I didn't know better (and I don't, believe me) I'd say you write better than I do.   Great job, Dawn!!

Boy, do I know your pain.  You have a remarkable talent expressing yours though...I always have trouble admitting mine!  I hope you know, deep down, that you aren't really alone, 'specially if you have friends at the Corner Pub!!!! ~~Jamie

Wonderful poem. . .

deVine is right though, sometimes, you have to reach out to be reached for. . . this poem is a start. . .

Thank you all for your replies. I was so happy when I got so many replies. I am going through some really tough times right now and knowing that I've got such good friends here at the Pub helps so much.

It is such a welcome sight
At the end of the tunnel there is light
But you know it is only right
To reach that goal you've got to...Fight

Your poem makes the battle commence.

Best wishes

Callie, With your ability to convey emotions through your poetry, as you have here, you will be just fine.

We parents don't take time with our young adults, thinking they don't want our interference, when in fact, sometimes all we need-is to know. Tell them (if it's parents); give yourself time if its more of a personal nature.  Loved your poem, sorry for the rambling.  Marcy

Callie~
A reminder that I LOVE your name.
Everyone needs that feeling of being needed -
wanted ...

YOU matter !

'Oh to be free of this pain,
Emotional, Physical its all the same,
Someone to listen, someone to care,'

You are right ... the physical
and the emotional are both so real ...

   I CARE !

Marge,

It is so appropriate that you brought this piece up again, cause once again I'm fighting health problems.   But, this time I'm happy to report, I am not feeling alone without anyone to care. I love all of you my friends at Corner Pub.
