Have you ever sat
in the garden
at the stroke of
midnight?
You can feel
the shift
in the atmosphere.
The air around you
grows denser,
heavy with mystical
magical mist.
The sounds of small
mythical creatures,
is heightened.
Fragrance of fauna
and flora
assail your senses.
Time has ceased
to exist.
Out of the corner
of your eye,
something shimmers.
Small flutterings
are heard.
Somehow you sense
their presense.
The fairies have come
out to play.
If you have allowed
your mind,
a small place that
knows of these things,
you heed their call,
and hear their song,
and your heart
takes wing,
to play with the
fairies,
in the midnight hour
in a summers garden.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

That was cute.  I like the way you used the imagery, it was good.  I wish the best of luck to your future poems

Oh Ellie, Can we build a pond by the garden, then we could sit on the dock and watch all the wonders of this world right there...in our own little world.  This is just so sweetly beautiful, so.....YOU!!!  Bonnie

oh how I wish that life could be so simple and I could just go play with the fairies. Makes me miss my childhood, or the childhood I wish I'd had..
