A big Catholic family
six kids to be exact,
two busy parents started it all;
not stopping ‘till the house was packed.

Mary was the smart one
the leader of the group,
Alex was the troublemaker;
starting trouble amongst the troop.

Emily was tactful
never getting caught,
Beth’s mouth got her in trouble;
many lessons she was taught.

Johnny was the funny one
always goofing around,
Laura was the quiet one;
never making a sound.

The house was always crazy
kids running everywhere,
Never a quiet moment for Mom;
always busy pulling gum out of hair.

There were always sibling battles
and Dad always saying "fight nice",
If you knew what was good for you;
You didn’t make Dad tell you twice.

The children have grown up now
and all six have moved  apart,
But no matter the distance between;
They have the same memories in their hearts!

Beth dear; This makes me very tired just reading it. Yawn! But you did a great job writing this lovely poem. Did I really do all that? Love, Mom

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.
