The solid rock that made the place
Shone with lights, and in my face
The colors from windows made of glass
Stained with the dyes from years long past.
My footsteps echoed through the nave;
The whole place seemed very grave.
Silent as death, yet full of spirit--
Things happened here, you just couldn't hear it.
Up to the altar I walked and kneeled;
My tail went limp, my wings concealed.
Silently to God I prayed,
This time with Him been long delayed.

Sanctuary made of stone;
In this place you are alone.
It seems that way, yet you are not,
If it is God that you have sought.

I left the church with a feeling of peace,
It felt as though my troubles had ceased.
You get a headache, sometimes a prayer
May work even stronger, and longer than Bayer.
Tylenol pills can't even come close
To a word with God when you're feeling morose.
I should know, after many tries
Advil's no good, which is no surprise.
Sometimes pain you try to relieve
The remedy might be Aleve
Or aspirin; possibly some day
The best thing to do would be just pray.
There's no charge, completely free!
But see for yourself, don't take it from me.

Absolutely delightful! The first stanza could stand alone... I love this, Sam!

Beautiful, Spyro.  God is listening, and He can hear your poem up there!  And I bet He's smiling at it right now!
