The Legend of Kahless the Unforgettable

In the time when the tyrant Morlor reigned, in Qo’noS from, did Kahless come,
the greatest warrior under the Empire’s Sun.
It was then, some 1,500 years ago, when united his people, from whence he'd come,
Kahless knew he had to kill, and took upon a giant hill named Qrl’Staq--the volcano.
He lopped off a lock of his hair and dropped it into the volcanic rock,
then into the Lake of Lursor, he plunged the burning lock.
And out of the lock, he formed a blade and called he batlh’etlh, sword of honor.
And with this blade, he did slay, the evil Morlor--mortally wounded, lay.
But then Moratlh, brother to Kahless, told an evil lie,
which made it look as though Kahless had brought shame upon his family name.
So Kahless, in revenge, fought a fight, which lasted twelve days, and twelve nights,
until his brother Moratlh also, lay dead.

Kahless lived a long and honorable life, but when it came time for him to die,
he went to Sto’vo’qor, where upon a star, he pointed and said,
"On that point of light, I shall return."

It is said, to this day, Kahless remains in Sto’vo’qor to await the arrival of fallen heroes.
So now, all warriors of the Empire, a solemn oath, they do take,
to die heroic in battle, and be laid to rest, their bones, upon the hallowed home of Sto’vo’qor.

Lavada,  Thanks, glad you liked it and noticed the similarities to medeival poetry. That's what I had in mind when I wrote it. I really like those type of poems too, especially the epic poems throughout history.

Echo,  Thanks, glad to see you're back--hope you stay a while.

At first I thought, Boy, here's a guy who's still hooked on Dungeons and Dragons, and I know how long it takes to get over that from experience.
A well written tale!

Hehehe, Liz.  I don't even know what Dungeons and Dragons really is. I'm way too old for that. I was in college when Pong was all the rage.     I just like mythical poems, that's all.

Munda,  But it reads so much better in Klingon.

Nice work, I liked it!.  But Kahless and the Klingon Empire are NOT fictional.
