Take me back to my days of yore,
Spent at the Carindale pub,
I sang there, performed for all,
The centre of the hubbub.

I miss those days I do,
Then I was bathed in confidence,
There was nothing I couldn't sing or do,
At the time it was my deliverance.

The music gave me confidence and power,
I was so alive and in control when I sang,
I've since found out it runs in the blood,
And peps my world with tang.

The mistress in her domain,
Everyone loved to hear me sing,
I had the whole pub rocking,
I was in the 'zone' doing my thing.

I miss those days of old,
Before I married and became a wife,
And right up to my demise,
I'll remember those best days of my life.

What a gift to be able to sing! One of my fantasies that will never be realized. Wonderful poem, Isis.

Well done, Isis!! And it gave me a few extra smiles after my latest "singing" attempt. *G* The spirit was willing but the voice was still mine... and my cat started yowling. She didn't stop making noise till I did! LOL. Now that's an audience reaction I could do without! LOL.

Sounds like a delightful career you had, maybe someday you'll be able to venture back to it. I like your poem about it, thanks for sharing that part of you.

Looks like Munda and Lost Dreamer are determined to bring back the old posts in the Pub! I'll toast to that!   This place seems to have grown since late November, that's for sure...and to think I had to get here in early January...sigh...

Great poem, Isis!

Perhaps one day, you will take that mike again Isis. . . you must know that it could be true. . .

And when you do. . . I want to lead the applause. . .
