As a lacy curtain of raindrops,
Fell gently to the ground,
The dismal clouds soon parted,
And sunlight was sneaking around.
As delicate sounds of thunder,
Drifted further and further away,
The jagged shards of lightening,
Seemed hesitant to stay.
Huge drops looking like crystal tears,
Clung steady to the leaves,
The grass below, already dry,
From the balmy, whispering breeze.
Violets picking themselves back up,
Having been crushed by the rain,
Peonies standing tall once more,
Bruised, yet withstanding the pain.
Cardinals bathing in puddles,
Watching sparrows eat their food,
Two morning doves keeping an eye,
On the little ones in their brood.
Squirrels, with tails now matted,
Sit on the stump and preen,
A bluejay is scaring a robin,
While a bunny thinks he's unseen.
Roses damp with lingering mist,
Shimmering in their stance,
Lilacs swaying gently,
Doing their age-old mystical dance.
An hour ago it was dreary and dark,
This day was just so grim,
But seeing all this beauty now,
Wherever I look I see Him.
His hands gently feeding the bunny,
And caressing the baby dove,
His light is shining all around,
Filling my life with His love.

Dearest Bonnie; Your pen is like a delicate paint brush that paints a picture so full of the colors of your words and all the hues of Gods love. A masterpiece! I could feel myself right there as He caressed the little doves and fed the bunnies.
The essence of your lovely spirit shines through every poem you write! Love, Ellie
P.S. does it have a front porch?
