Wouldn't it be,
The greatest thing
To make life easier
On you and me
On the day of our birth
Each and every child
Instead of just a name
We knew the future of the child
The one that God laid out
The one that he planned
Our one and only purpose
To meet in life's demands
The tiny little braclets
Around the wrist
Might say a little something
That goes like this,
I will be a pilot
Of jet airplanes
I will be an engineer
Of railroad trains
I will be a nurse
For babies like me
I will be a teacher
Of ABC's and 123's
I will be a musician
Of harmony and tone
I will be a builder
Of things made of stone
I will be a dentist
Creating perfect smiles
I will be a veterinarian
Of birds to crocodiles
Although I've named a few
Of professions far and wide
There are those, that are simple
That are professions from inside
Like: I will be a loving mommy
Of three or maybe four
I will be a daddy
That my children will adore
I will be a good example
For others to follow
I will be a messenger of hope
For those who are filled with sorrow
I will be a giver
That gives without charge
I will be a helper
For things small or large
I will be a loving source
For those who have no one
I will be a gardian
Of peace forevermore
I will be a safe harbor
For those who need relief
I will be a generous person
For those that have nothing
Even though these things I've wrote
Aren't possible to forsee
It's just a thought
That leads to thinking
What if, inside of me
But wouldn't it be
An even greater thing
If we went back to the old school
And we started life
With just a simple task
That we already knew we could do
There are no instruction books
Because there are none required
Only if we push ourselves
To be something He has not desired
And to be appreciated, beyond compare
For being what you are
Instead of what your resume says
And your paycheck from your job
I admire the hard work
That we put into our careers
But small children have it so tough
Trying to decide who they are
Identity crisis they call it
Confusion from day one
And if they fail to meet the test
Their lives go left undone
We tend to punish other's efforts
And let them fall by the way side
Many futures are ruined
By simple foolish pride
And everyone usually stands in line
To give opionions and demands
Instead of being first in line
To be of help with the task at hand
Somehow
I wish we could all be seen
As something, God has won
Each of us, his blue ribbon
Of quality and a job well done
Wouldn't it be
The most greatest thing
If each child was honored
For the simplest things
Never a looser
For the rest of their lives
Never feeling like a failure
But our most precious prize!
Defeat becomes unknown
Smiles replace, crying eyes
Adversity, becomes peace within
But then again,
Everyone would have to believe in him
Well, I am a Mother
And I can imagine,Anything I want
He said "Ask and ye shall receive".
So on Mother's Day I ask
That every Mother be honored
With first prize
For being all that they are
And all that they have tried
And that they pass, that award back
To the children in their lives
For being the creators of their motherhood
And they too, deserve first prize
If for some reason,
The one that gave birth
Is not there for you now
Or has left this earth
Honor the one who means the most
It doesn't take blood
To love and care for someone
I believe, to be a winner
Of God's blessings from above
We have to pass on the honoring tradition
Of old fashioned love
Because of life and all that's in it
For the most part anyway
When you stop and think
We all got here the old fashioned way
To be born is a miracle! Even today
And every person should have the honor
Of being the most important person
You've seen all day.

Sorry, My mind just kept wandering on and on. I hope all receive the message. Sincerely, Regina

Dear Regina; Please do not apologize for writing a masterpiece. I was hanging on every word. If you read in my poem "New Paths", you will see how much your poem has touched me, not to mention the mom parts that I love. Wonderful, wonderful!!! Love, Ellie

Thought provoking ideas written in these lines. Intriging idea, babies coming with instruction as what he or she were to become. Wonder what future jobs or positions we never heard of that could come on that little band, might be a puzzle trying to figure it all out!!

Dear Regina,
If every Parent gave as much thought to the challenges and responsibilities of parenting as you have expressed in this lengthy but very worthwhile read--our world would be much better off.  Your poem here stands as a grand monument to the awesome & often overlooked accomplisheent of the dedicated parent with the help of God to truly bless the precious souls entrusted in their care.  A Marvelous work here to mark and denote that marvelous undertaking!

I like your thoughts or dreams.  How very true it is each person should be treated very special because they are. Like the one who needs a smile most is the one who has none. Thank you for sharing.

Regina, How the words flowed from your heart with your yielding pen. A heart full of love. The latter part especially touched me as it reminded me of my 9 yr old grandson, who is ridiculed daily by his friends for a speach impediment. Oh, if we could say, Parents tell your child not to be so cruel to my one who hurts so bad. Makes me cry. marcy
