On my way to church
one Sunday morn
I saw my neighbor
out harvesting corn.

"Come to church" I said
"The corn will wait,"
"Oh no," he said
"I'm three days late."

As he walked away
too busy to chat
a bolt of lightening
knocked off his hat.

Next Sunday he came
to pray and repent;
the collection was boosted
one hundred percent.

I love it. It reminds me of the man who lost his footing on a high roof and as he slid down, he prayed, "Lord, if you spare my life, I'll serve you forever!" Just as he was about to go over the edge, his clothing caught on a nail, and he was saved. He climbed back up on the roof and said, "Never mind, Lord, the nail saved me."

Thanks yall. Kenneth, I think I've heard that story and many others just like it LoL....the only problem I have with it, si that God does not bargain. His love is free if we say we will serve Him if He does somethign for us, it is like telling Him we will pay for His love.....anyways...Glad you all liked it =o)

Very good Marie, why is it we have time for everything but for the One who gave it to us?

I enjoyed this Echo. We need our spiritual food as often as we need our daily meals.
