Sunshine, Blue Sky, Puffy White Clouds, Moonlight, Rainbows. Lightning Bugs, Butterflies, Lady Bugs. Eagles Penguins, Peacocks, Humming Birds. Tulips, Roses, Sunflowers, Dandelions. Pet Dogs (or Dragons?), Koalas Bears, Giraffes, Monkeys. Prime Rib (Medium Rare), Chocolate (don't forget Chocolate). Children's Laughter, A Gentle Touch, a Hug, A Babies Contented Sigh, A Smiling Face, A Kind Word, A True Friend. Some of these things if not all of these things started in the mind of my Creator. He knew I would need a pause from the demands of this life to experience the simple, beautiful things, to delight and refresh me ! TO GOD BE THE GLORY ! Poetry is the expression of thoughts which awake the higher and nobler emotions, or their opposites, with words arranged to some accepted convention.........or maybe not! Dennis :^) |

The style of this one is so neat, all these different or special things that God has put in this life, as you have so well put it all points to God's goodness and Glory. A Point well made. Dennis, This poem is delightful to me. These are some of the "simple" pleasures it brings to me: A break from high "theological" perplexities to take a relaxing stroll through the glorious works of God on a smaller scale. (we need the high and lofty, but we need the meek and lowly as well!) It has a simple humor and charm that is very idyllic and pleasing to the heart. It mentions chocolate (which to my wife is perhaps on the verge of being a "graven image". She would appreciate that! It does more than say stuff, it has a charming visual effect in the body. That is a technique I have yet to experiment with in my writing. Coooolll! It reminds me how creative our God is and how much he really loves and cares for us all. Keep up the good work! |

Well the others seem to have covered it, but you certainly brought a smile to my face tonight! It's the simple things we often forget to thank God for, and yet we'd notice if they weren't around. Interesting to think that God thought to make these things before the world even began, just because he knew they would bring us delight. Another great poem, i loved the visual effect there too!  |
