He Speaks And I Listen
~*Marge Tindal*~

A voice so deep within,
Lord, I'm listening.
Falling to my knees,
Lord, I listen.

The things you say to me
set my spirit free.
You bring me back to thee.
Lord, I'm listening.

The rapture of my soul,
no other one can hold.
Lord, you're all I know
and I listen.

The words that you impart
take seed within my heart,
Lord, I never want to part
from your mission.

When I shall to Heaven go,
I will always know
that my Father loves me so.
He made me who I am,
He gently holds my hand.
He will take me home,
no more will I roam.
He said that it's because
He knows I listened.

Dear Marge; Thank you so much. I am so moved by this poem, because it is so beautifully written, but more so, because it touches me personally. I do listen and I hear His voice within me, but I know I still need to be more tuned in than I am. I don't listen as often as I know I could. When I get upset, I let my emotions be in control a little too much. This poem gives me pause to pray more for a better listening heart. Thank you again for the little wake-up call that I needed this morning. Lets hear more from you!

Ellie~
I am now touched by your response.
Open your heart to stay in touch.
He speaks ... we need only to listen.
Bless you.
May you find the comfort you need.

We hear and read so much about telling it to the Lord, talking to the Lord or praying, but not nearly enough about listening.  This is a very special piece you've shared.  Thank you.

WhiteDove~
And where He leads me
I will follow.
I so appreciate your thoughts.

A SandGrain~
I hadn't thought of that, but you're right.
All I know is that He speaks to me
and my heart hears clearly His voice.
I listen as He would have me do.
Thank you for your perspective on this.

Janet Marie~
Thank you for liking it.
I think we must have been on one another's
wave length at about the same time.
I was just reading yours and responding
when my little e-mail bell rang.
I appreciate your comments.

Marge,
I enjoyed your poem and it's message greatly.  How much God wants to share with us, How much He truly cares--but how often we turn a deaf ear or say, I'm too busy.
Let us never be to busy to stop and listen to our Creator & Best Friend. JAMES 1:19 goes well with your poem message-"SO THEN. MY BELOVED BRETHREN, LET EVERY MAN BE SWIFT TO HEAR, SLOW TO SPEAK, SLOW TO WRATH."
Thank you for your post,  David

Sandy~
Thank you for your heart-felt reply.
We all fall short at times ...
I find that's when He bids me
listen even more.

David~
Thank you for your comments.
I can't remember ever being 'too busy'
to listen to my Saviour.
I especially enjoy when He whispers
and it enters my heart and serenity
prevails.
God be with you.

Marge i wish i could rhyme the way you do... I really loved this message too - you know what it reminded me of? This guy who was stuck in this country/island for more months than he wanted to be. He had been trying to get home for some time, but every time it just didn't work out, or something came up.  Then he finally gets a ticket, and is waiting in line by the airport, when God says to him, "step out of line." And he thinks, no way am i stepping out of line, it's taken me so long to get here, i'm finally going home.  But God speaks to him again, and when he thinks it's only himself thinking it, God says it a 3rd time.  So he steps out of line, and the people behind him fill up his place.  He is sad as he goes home, but the next evening when he watches the news, he is grateful. The plane he was about to board crashed, and ALL died.  There were no survivors.  My family asked what the point to that little story was, and said why, if God loves everyone, did He only warn one person in that whole que? Why, if God is so powerful, did He not prevent the plane from crashing?  Well the person who told ME the story answered, "God spoke to everyone in that line that day, but only that man listened."  Sorry it was such a long story, but your poem reminded me of that.  It is so important to listen to His voice, His guidance, but we often do more praying than listening.  Thanks for wakening me to this again, it's something we need a daily reminder of.  It also springs to mind the scripture, "Be still and know that I am God." Marge you have blessed me tonight, thanks!

Mirjam~
And you have blessed my day.
I had not heard that story ...
but how true it is.
He does speak to us all ...
we simply must learn to listen.
Thank you for your comments.
May God bless your day with
the sound of His voice.
