DIVINE LOVE

A life to live,
choices to make.
So many paths unbeaten and untried.
The possiblilities are endless.
To walk down the beaten path,
or just to start anew.
Many things to discover,
to experience.
The choice made is one I cannot understand.
To choose not to live.
To stop the journey before it even began.
To bring pain to those you love.
Was your pain that great?
Did you feel like you were already dead?
Did you think no one else cared how you felt?
There is always one.
One who would move the heavens for you.
If you would of had that one would you have chosen to live?
Your life was worth living.
It would of been worth your time to walk down a different path.
It may not of led where you wanted it to but it may of been better.
You had a life to live,
choices to make.
My wish for you is that you are shining.
Shining brighter and flying higher then the brightest star.
I hope you find peace and joy in your new home,
surrounded by divine love.

Sadly, that friend probably couldn't see there was even one other path available.  This set me thinking how we should tell everyone close who's troubled, that they can be helped to find new paths.

At the time, I don't know what would of helped, if anything.  Also, reading your reply gave me chills.  Your start date on this board as a member, was his birthday.  He  was born on Dec. 12 and I was Dec.31.  We were real close in age but I was a year ahead of him.  He killed himself right before graduation.  Not to be sad though, I know where he rests and that he is well, up there forever watching over me and anyone else who may need him.

Kelly, this really hits home tonight!  As one of our own has tried the very same thing, but not succeeded.  Very profound words that really hit my heart right now!  Amazes me to think how God's timing is, that this very piece would show up now.  Thanks Kelly!
God Bless you!

Well, unfortunatly my friend did and for a lot of silly reasons.  Situations that could have been handled better all along caused him to feel hopeless.  I will never understand his choice.  I have to deal with it even if it makes me mad at him most of the time (I still care a great deal for him).

Beautiful poem, Kelly.  I have a friend who gave up their own life, also.  I can realte to all the confusion, pain and grief this causes.  My prayers are with you and your friend this night.

It does get less painful but you never stop missing them.  I catch myself wondering ever so often what he's doing or what he's up to, then I remember.

Very heartfealt and meaningful, Kelly.  It is so sad how some do not realize how prescious life is and that nothing can be so bad as to take one's own life. ~sigh~  My heart goes out to ya!

The whole situation was a mess.  Especially when you started to find out the hows, wheres, and supposed whys.  I so wish he hadn't succeeded!
