How swift the clouds of sorrow came
And brought the rain of tender tears,
The lightening strike of Death had come
Cutting a tie of many years.
'Twas then I sought out Prayer's Garden
To speak with my Lord alone,
On behalf of you, my Special Friend
I've been blessed to have loved and known.

The garden retreat was so peaceful
And God was so Patient and Kind,
He knew well of such painful loss--
He'd "Crossed" that road, way down the line!
Then through His Word, He reassured me
By the Death and Life of His Son,
The Darkness of Death, is just a breath--
Christ's dawn of Vict'ry will shine on and
on!

Take Comfort in your mist and fog
The Son still shines above the din,
By Faith hold on, "Be not afraid!"
Confounded not, whoso trusts Him!
The Man of Sorrows knows and cares
Seeks You, to lean on His Breast,
'Til all be accomplished of God's will--
Then He can show us Heaven's Best!

Wow, this is such a powerful poem. Indeed, He "crossed" that line long ago...very well done.

Nicely done, David - I like this line best...

"The Darkness of Death, is just a breath--
Christ's dawn of Vict'ry will shine on and
on!"
