I read the news with horror, "This world's a wicked place. What can we do to change it Lord, The future that we face.? He answered me so quietly, But these are the words I heard. "A little child shall lead them. You know I gave my word." "That was two thousand years ago, The world is still the same." "Because you would not listen, Are you saying I'm to blame"? In a voice so full of sadness, "You've banned me from the schools. You've said it would be better To follow manmade rules." "Now all the little children, Hear every voice but mine. They do no know which way to go. They've lost their safety line." I bowed my head in sorrow. These searing words were true. "Forgive me Father," I cried aloud, "Please tell me what to do." "Gather the little children, As He did around his knee. Tell them the old, old story, If changes you would see." "The children are the answer. That's all you need to know. But you are the one to teach them And show them the way to go." "Your textbook, The Holy Bible, You'll find the answers there. It must be opened and read to them; By all of the folks who care." So once again He'd shown me What had been there all along. The children will be the answer, if We teach them right from wrong. By: Joyce Johnson December 2000. |

This soo very much the truth, and so sad that so many kids aren't getting the foundation and love they need from parents who are too busy to know what is so precious. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Joyce, Your message is so poetically graced with true words of wisdom. This reminds me of the following poem (actual author unknown) which describes the sad state of our society. Melton THE NEW SCHOOL PRAYER This was written by a teen in Bagdad, Arizona. Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd. If Scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now. Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise. Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all. In silence alone we must meditate, God's name is prohibited by the state. We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks. They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen, And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King. It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong, We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong. We can get our condoms and birth controls, Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles. But the Ten Commandments are not allowed, It's scary here I must confess, When chaos reigns the school's a mess. So, Lord, this silent plea I make: Should I be shot; My soul please take! Amen |

Your post definitely bottom lines our troubled society. It's said a nation can be taken over through the children and moral corruption leads to a downfall. My heart aches for todays young, both the violent and their victims, because I feel they're all victims of a sad society. Thank you, Rae |

Joice, I believe God's words given to you. It is sad as we become more and more desensitized to the needs of our children... another school shooting today in San Deigo... What children need is Christ yet so many face such pressing issues at home. Yes, our children need the moral, physical, spiritual, and emotional support that they are no longer receiving from their families. With only about 5% of today's generation even being reached for Christ, we as Christians need to be filled to overflowing with the power to spread the good news: "Jesus Loves the little Children ALL the little Children of the world." Sad, but you have hit the nail on the head with this one. We need revival all over this land, and it needs to begin in our homes. Clearly the writing is on the wall. Good write Joyce. Deb |
