I was inspired by another one of my favorite songs and of course, my faith in God.

Ever since I was young, I wanted to learn about God.
I was never sure what was to become, when times was hard.
As times went on, I praised him
and used him as a mental emblem.
As usual, I had questions
because my mind was always second-guessing.
I've often wondered which answer to this question is right.
Is God black or is he white?
I wanted to know because, I looked at him in two different eyesights.
But one day, I know that the truth will eventually come out in the light.
I tried to erase my doubts and fears
but, the mist ain't gone and I can still see clear.
As a child, I was givn a religion with no answer to why.
I was just told to believe in him because, for me he died.
But curiosity killed the cat
because, I knew there was more to it than that.
So, in widom books I reached back
and I kept reading until my knowledge beagn to stack.
Now my mind is no longer black
beause I know more and my soul is intact.
I've read the books of Zen and Tao,
keeping my brain well-rounded as bagel.
I've also read the Koran and the Bible
because, they're all vital.
They gave me hope and revival.
I recommend that you people read these books
because, the truth is within them, read them boys,
you can't skim them like you eating Chips Ahoy.
I now use religion,
as my eternal vision.
Religion should be as a natural way of life.
Organized religion such as people telling me who I should pray to, just ain't right.
And I don't care if he's black or white
because, all that matters is that he represents what's right.
You can call him God or Allah
but, they're the same thing just like heavenly father.
I'm just gonna preach the holy words to others
and praise God like no other.
Because, when the Lord trumpet blows,
only the God-chosen ones goes.

Nate, you're right !  When the trumpet blows, it won't matter what color you are, there will be so many colors rising in the sky to meet him, I believe it will look like a rainbow!     God created all the colors, and will happily let them all enter, as long as they seek him first!  I don't believe God sees color - he sees your soul, and what's in your heart....He cares what's on the inside, not the outside of a person.  We should follow that example....the world would be a much happier place!  Thanks for sharing!

You are right on...I always say we all pray to the same God and what religion is God anyway? Religion is for man to join others in simular beliefs...spirituality is our unique relationship with God.
