When I Grow UP

When I grow up
I wanta be a
Grandma
Just like you..

You are just so good
At being a grandmother
It  seems that it is the job
That was really meant for you.

You just seem to know
All the right things
That Grandma's need to know
The little things that you do
That always make me feel
Like a special kid in your book
Even though I wasn't the first
Grandchild you ever had
You treat me as if I'm still special

You know me from the inside out
You know the things that I have come
To expect from you
You love me at the times
I feel most un-loveable

I love your house for the special
Old fashioned ways that are a part
Of your life
Those little touches of yesterday
Make me appreciate you more
For the harder times you have come through
Above all else I cherish you
For the faith that you hold onto
And so wisely and wonderfully
Have passed on down to me
Giving me a mother who is
Almost just as wonderful as you.
I love you Grandma
In case you ever wondered!!

My Grandmother has been gone many years but her memory is one I hold in my heart.

You have reminded me of myself as I wrote poems and letters to my own Grandmother... Growing up she was one of my best friends and I really do miss her as well.  Just another reason that I long to be in Heaven besides seeing Jesus is to see my Grandmather... God Bless You and thank you for your memories, Bob <><

Thank you, My Nanny was the one who taught me faith and brushed my hair for hours and loved me.I can't wait to be with her in heaven. Thank you for bringing back such sweet memories for us all. love, Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.
