Open Heart Surgery

From this open heart surgery,
"Lord, please help me to survive!"
Though a dead man walking,
Let my spirit stay alive.
As a lame man,
I come to you not...
But as a perfectly made whole man
With your promise that I've got--
A Better Life.

Grasping your surgical blade,
"Lord, do whatever it takes!"
Let your knife cut through my soul
Though my every bone breaks.
As a heart bleeds,
My pain grieves within...
Not to end my life mercifully
But for renewed strength to begin--
A Better Life.

As his blade is sharp enough to cut through the spirit and soul, only He can seperate.

This is wonderful Bob! As He is our surgeon, and our potter, and no one can mend us or shape us or mold us better than He can.  To have a Better Life!

Love it!

just as you view god as a master surgeon, i view him as the grand psychiatrist. unlike a psychologist, he's able to dispense meds. and unlike a psychiatrist, he lets you talk past your 15 minutes. and unlike both, he actually listens to what you have to say. okay...i know i'm utterly nuts, but in a good way.

Though you may not see me reply to all of your poems I wanted you to know that I do read them of late.  I find so much strength and belief in your words and they to operate on me and my heart and give me what I know I need and now seek.  Wonderful conviction in your words sir and I do appreciate them.
