Walking alone on a well-worn path,
In the morning's quiet hour,
Sunlight filtered through frosted leaves,
And I could feel Your awesome power.
In a moment You were next to me,
I was startled, but felt no alarm,
As Your tender voice said "It's Me,"
And You gently took my arm.
As we strolled through meadows together,
You pointed out trees all ablaze,
Nearing the edge of an old plowed field,
You showed me the deer as they grazed.
In the distance, glorious mountains,
At their base, a tranquil lake,
Standing, white robed, with Your arms spread wide,
You said "Give me your burdens to take."
With whispers of subtle music,
I was embraced by feathery wings,
The chill of the day had left me,
As Your angels started to sing.
Suddenly, there in that meadow,
Golden leaves with tinges of red,
Started floating down around us,
Forming a halo around Your dear head.
And there You were standing, majestic,
Surrounded by autumn's blue skies,
Your perfect light enveloped me,
Your love clearly shown in Your eyes.
With Your gentle arm on my shoulder,
We turned to walk away,
And I knew I'd always remember,
The beauty of this Autumn day.

Amen to Dennis's comment!  The burst of Autumn colors always leaves me in awe and I always tell my grandkids, "Look, how awesomely God paints all these brilliant colors for us."   Thank you for another of your beautiful poetry paintings, Bonnie

Dearest Bonnie; I feel His peace and his Love so beautifully as I read your poem that is truly a work of art. Love, Ellie

that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Wish I could go on that walk with you, I could almost smell the autumn air just by reading your poem.

Bonnie you have an awesome spirit! As you can write so well about your 'walk' with God!
Man if you haven't taken me down another serene path this morning, and peaceful, as I could just invision it all! What beauty!

Check your email, I'm going to give something a try here, and see what happens.
