Here, in the innermost
dwelling of the
heart and mind,
stress and confusion
reign.
The pain of trauma's
from the past,
grow and fester,
the fears of today.
All the daily
worries and cares,
compound and confuse
our troubled minds.
There is no peace
within.

A weary soul,
becomes sick and tired,
of being sick and tired,
and longs for inner peace,
and finally cries a prayer
of desperation to God,
Who longs to soothe
our hearts and minds,
with His loving gifts,
of peace and rest.
He will then gently lead
our inner selves
to lie down in His
green pastures,
and give us rest
beside the still waters
if His Peace and Love.
Then we will know that
our inner secret place,
is safe at last.
No longer a victim
of fear or the stress
of the world without,
but at Peace with God
within.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

This is just lovely, Ellie!
I've never seen such a wonderful poetic treatment of the twent-third Psalms that truly seeks to take in it's heart and soul and to breathe out such comfort and strength and guidance and truth. This is in my humble estimation Masterpiece Quality! My hats off to you sweet Lady!!!     David

Ellie life made us friends, the blood of Jesus made us sisters. I thank you my sister for penning these wonderful words of encouragement.
Love you,
Juls

Your words ring loud and true.
I thank our Lord for the gift I've found in you.
May you always dwell in His secret place,
Anxious to behold Him face to face.

Ellie I'm at a loss for words here.  I'm just sitting here thinking for the right words to explain my thoughts, and I just can't capture them.

Perfect, wonderfully written and so full of meaning!  (I'll leave it at that)

The whole poem was written very well, filled with wonderful metaphore. Though I liked the last stanza the best, I had to meditate on it awhile to hopefully get some deeper meaning.

  "No longer a victim
of fear or the stress
of the world without,
but at Peace with God
        within."

To me this is a wonderful meditation of Peace with God and letting go of all my life's stresses of a world who does not know Him, and just focusing all my attention on the magnificence of Him. Thank you and God bless you, Bob <><

Ellie,
The submissive heart is open to recieve His wonderful blessings of peace and abundant life with great joy. Your poem is a practical treatment of the 23rd Psalms, Well Done!
