Friendship's From The Garden
~*Marge Tindal*~

Who would have imagined that
a gardener I could be?
With just the sowing of a seed,
to grow between you and me.

A tiny seed of friendship,
planted deep within.
I watered and I fed it,
it blossomed once again.

That we are merely gardeners,
tending what we have sown,
has come to mean so much to me.
That's how our friendship has grown.

Just to think that it cost me nothing,
but the planting of the seed.
Look what I have gained,
a friend in my time of need.

So I don my gloves,
grab my hat and grab my spade.
I'd gladly be the gardener
for the friendship that we've made.

Marcy~
He gives us the seeds of friendship to sow -
and all we need do is tend them with love.

Is that the greatest gift or what ?
Thank you for your friendship seed.

Dear Marge; How wonderful your analogy of the garden and friendship! "A tiny seed of friendship, planted deep within..." This is profoundly lovely! Love, Ellie
P.S. I just read your response to the "Sea"
poem, and as always, you're thoughtful and praising words touch my heart.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

With such loving care and attention given to your friendship garden, I am for certain that you have been prospered many beautiful blossoms... God Bless You Bob <><

Here is a short poem that I wrote for my 9 year old daughter who is a little socialite.
(Lots and lots of friends) I hope that you like it.

Friendship Salad

If all my friends I should take
And put them in a bowl,
A friendship salad I would make
From the garden of my soul.

Marge this is a special one! To tend the garden of friendship. Then there's just those special ones that God sends across your path...then again, nothing's accidental is it?

Love it!

Bob I like that little verse!

We just have to make time to tend the friendships
that are sown.

Dear Marge,
How eloquently you have spoken about the tender care found in tending to a friendship.
Plant in good soil, water regularly with love and reap bountiful rewards. Such a simple investment brings life enriching harvest. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem.

Awww Marge, this is such a lovely, gentle poem.  And how beautifully you have sown those seeds!  The friendships I've made over the years have, many times, been my lifeline.  I can only hope I have tended them as carefully as I do my flowers.  Thanks for this one..... Bonnie

Plant the seeds of love. How important they are.
We reap what we sow.

I love this beautiful poem and am glad it resurfaced. Friendship does grow from the tiniest seed and when it blossoms, it blesses our life. Unfortunately, sometimes root rot or some other mysterious ailment sets in and no amount of tender attentions can keep the friendship alive - and the hurt and loss stay with us forever.

And I would say to you that from the ripened flower
there are many fertile seeds to be cultivated~
When it appears that one has not flourished in our tender keep ...
it is perhaps time to prepare the ground well
and plant another in it's place.
