GOD’S WIND

Like a lover blowing kisses wind brushes past my face
whispering it’s song of love and bowing full of grace.
Softly, gently, stirring hearts, it tells of life’s true bliss
while sweeping down corridors sealed with ignorance.

Clean and new, a soul refreshed, steps boldly forward pace
holding baskets, paper bags, to capture nature’s wind.
Fast and spry the wind departs yet, strange, I feel it still,
living safe within my mind and spelling out it’s will

Join with me and send our love as wind up in the sky
landing in the hearts of all and touching deep inside.
Let God’s message of true love reach nations far and wide
as it whistles, gusts and blows a gale to open blinded eyes.

Fierce the wind we turn our backs to proudly pray and ask
for stillness in our daily lives to hide us from our tasks.
We seal and bar the windows, put tape around the door,
but unbeknown to us wind creeps up through the floor.

No way out the wind of love encircles all our souls
hiding, waiting, watching for little rays of hope
and as we offer it our hearts in joy it blows about
knowing that a tiny bit is all it needs to grow.

Dear Honey: Wow! You have captured the pure essence of the Holy Spirit, and His relentless pursuit of our hearts, in a magnificent poem that could only be inspired by His mighty Love. Thank you, Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

A Big WOW, HB!
What a mesmerizing topic you've taken and really brought forth a marvelous message in verse.  The Greek word for Winda & Spirit are the same- and so, as Jesus suggested in his discussion with Nicodemus,(John 3), one can rightfully suggest or illustrate the other.  You made very good usage of your theme concept.   David

WOW- another day of life-and here among friends!

So true, God's Love is just like the wind and isn't it sad when us humans in our ignorance try so hard to block it out rather than receive it openly as your poem implies?  I am thrilled that His Love still slips in dispite our feeble attempts... God will never leave us no matter how often we turn our backs on Him and that is beyond marvelous.  Thank you for your reminder of God's never ending Love for us,  Bob <><

David,  I didn't know about the Greek word having two meanings but I guess, somewhere inside, I must have just known.

Bonnie, Thank you so very much for your kind comments.

Marcy,  Thank you for responding.  If you knew how quickly the words flowed out you would join me in knowing that it isn't my own wisdom.  Very strange because I had no intention of writing what came out.

Bob, My door must have been taped very well all these years but I'm glad it's slowly opening.  Thank you for responding.
