Mother Mary

At Bethlehem, I was truly blessed
For the great thing that God had done...
And from this my meek and lowly state,
God conceived through me His Son.

At Jerusalem, I searched and searched
For where my precious child might lurk...
And when I found Him, He said to me,
"I have been doing my Father's work."

At Cana, I told Him they needed wine
For the wedding party desired some...
"Woman, what have I to do with you?"
He said, for His time had not yet come.

At Capernaum, I sought my Jesus
To counsel Him with motherly love...
But He said, "My family only consists
Of those who obey the Word above."

At Golgotha, sister Mary and I wept
For loving words my Jesus said...
"Now, you are a part of My family...
...It is Finished!" and bowed His head.

Great work, I loved this! You told the stories of Jesus and Mary so well.

Isn't it nice to know that not only do we have God and Jesus to turn to, but Mary as well? It's very comforting to me. Again, Bob, good work!

Bob; A beutifully inspirational poem! I have loved Mary since I was a little girl, and she did her job well with me. Her job is always to lead us to her Son. ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Bob this says so much...I love the ending to this!

I often wonder of His childhood, or being in Mary's position. Actually birthing Jesus, boy was she ever blessed. She gave birth to the One who created her.  Great poem Bob!

Bob so often I have thought of all the joy Jesus must have brought to His loving mother and the pain and heartbreak she must have felt watching Him die. What a beautiful story you have told here. Thanks so much for sharing it.
