Lie thee there,  in the pale sepulcher,
O dreams.  Let the cypress wave
In motion soundless as an angel wing
Above thy silent grave,  when softly,
Vagrant breezes steal and wan mists
Shroud me as I kneel.  I could not know
That when I laid thee there,  all beauty too
Would fade.  That skies should lose their blue,
The flowers their souls,  and melody
Become but a toneless rhapsody...and yet,
In losing loveliness...'tis thee I can't forget.
Pale lilies drooping in despondency and care
In thy tight hands lie dead.  Despair
Alone lives on--Despair and I--
Since God decreed it be that thou shouldst die.
So lie thee there,  dead dreams,  yet not for
long alone...
As Grief must soon make need to carve
Two names upon one stone.

Rex; so sadly eloquent and mournfully romantic. Beautifully written. This sounds as if it came from deep within, I'm so sorry for your loss. Ellie

Rex, this literally grabbed at my chest and made me hurt.  So painfully beautiful.  Thank you...

I have been somberly reminded that Lamintations is a poetic book.  It is amazing how God can set our sorrows into such beautiful musical refrain...  I felt your sorrow, but rejoiced your masterpiece.

I don't know what to say that wouldn't echo what's been said already.
This has deep sadness, but it's written exquisitely!
