CHURCH PIGEONS

Poised like angels on church belfries
as songs from chorus bells ring,
They move about steeples of Holy temples
   adorning their downy wings.

Fluffing up their Sunday school's best
   to parade before their King,
They bob agreeing heads in anticipation
   for service each Sunday brings.

Strutting about their puffed out chests
   as church congregations sing,
"Amazing Grace!"
How sweet the enchanting sounds
   of their most reverent offerings.

Bob,
This one is an interesting perspective- especially since pigeons ofthen get bad press by humans-  but as in Psa 147-- let all God's creation praise Him!

   Good poem,   David

Bob; this is so neat. All creatures praise His name. I love the sweet feel of this poem.
Amazing Grace for sure! Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Bob,  This is terrific.  I love pidgeons.... there, I've admitted it.... and this reminds me so much of our church.... I think the cooing is one of the best sounds there is.  Bonnie

Since where we now live used
to be a pigeon farm for carrier pigeons
quite a few years ago,
We have a lot of pigeons
living on our roof tops.
After awhile the sounds of
the pigeons can drive one
a little coo-coo.

Thank you all for your kind words,

Bob <><
