Life is in full bloom now,
And Oh, how Your love shows,
As from an ugly, prickly weed,
A beautiful flower grows.
The fledgling little robins,
Are learning how to fly,
And gulls are soaring freely,
Through the ice blue sky.
Roses in abundance,
Burst forth anew each day,
Hollyhocks now growing tall,
Their blossoms on the way.
An angel holding windchimes,
Sends melodies through the air,
While the bunny in the birdbath,
Seems not to have a care.
A gentle breeze sends whispers,
Across the rippled lake,
A child throws a flattened stone,
How many skips will it make?
And as I sit on the hillside,
Watching lacy clouds drift by,
I marvel in this beauty,
You've created for my eye.
I see Your presence everywhere,
As pure as a new lamb,
And I know like I've not known before,
It's because of You that I am.

BSC,
What beautiful imagery floats across my screen and I'm not certian , but I think I can smell those fragrant flowers and hear the gulls as they swoop by in acrobatic flight. Yet you point to yet a greater beauty beyond the natural realm, our Creator ,who provided such splendor for us to enjoy. I love this poem!

Thank you for reminding us that God shares His Love with us through the beauty of His revealed creation.  A very uplifting poem.

I'll let you in on a little secret..there is a lovely cemetary where I know I will be placed, someday [no time soon], and it is my wish to have on my stone...

"An angel holding windchimes,
Sends melodies through the air,"

as these are two of my very favorite things, and I would want those who remember and visit me to smile, and be glad to hear just this very thing, and think of me...

I liked this, thank you!

Dearest Bonnie; "It's because of you that I am"! That picture painted once again with your paint brush of poetic words and a colorful pallet of rhyme, is a portrait of beauty that I am lost in the middle of and I don't want to leave! Love, Ellie

 Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.
