CONNECT THE DOTS

I know I am a body made up of many dots
connected to my Lord Jesus Christ
and as each one follows the others
I see the purpose and plan for my life

The Lord holds the Holy pen
that flows with crimson red ink
and he connects my dots one by one
so that like Him I'll always think

Sometimes I try to move a dot
and the chain of command is broke
my burdens become heavier
until I feel like I will choke

But once I drag my dot back
to the straight line it belongs in
only then can I feel God's presence
removing the heaviness of my sin

As simple as a child's game
connecting one dot to the other
why is it so hard for us to understand
tell me my sisters and brothers

Why do we look out on a sunny day
and still see darkened skies
why do we lose our focus
and forget about the honesty before the lie

If all the choices we would make
were played like that simple game
each dot of choice would be in sequence
and life for us would never be the same

So like a child lets believe
that each dot should stay together
and from that childlike faith
know that God will remain with us forever

Then next time we face a trail
depression or sheer lonileness
lets connect the dots on God's pathway
and put all our troubles to rest

This is an outstanding piece of poetry. Original, unique and worth reading. Congratulations!

"childlike faith..."  yes, some things shouldn't be questioned.  Well done!

Hey Rose,

I just wanted to say that this poem is pretty descent.  It kind of starts out slow, to me. But you ended it strong and I love the correlation between connecting the dots to childlike faith.  Pretty descent work here.

Your simple poem challenged me to get all my dots in a row and to get my life lined up with the Lord.
