I Asked For Inspiration

I asked for inspiration
In a quiet whispered prayer
The cool spring breeze it blew so hard
I'm sure God didn't hear

So I asked for inspiration
On paper crisp and white
But the summer sun was shining
My words were lost in its bright light

I asked for inspiration
As I looked up to the sky
But I found it hard to concentrate
When I heard my baby's cry

Then I begged for inspiration
On my knees there by the sea
But my message must have went unheard
For God didn't answer me

I asked for inspiration
As the Sunday church bells rang
But my pleas were simply muted out
By the hymns the choir sang

So I shouted from the mountain top
"Where is inspiration found?"
And His answer came soft to my ears
"My child, simply look around"

This puts me in mind of "Footprints in the Sand" but even more so, because you thought you looked everywhere, and it was still right in front of you.

From Toto-land, I remain, respectfully yours,

Sunshine!

Thank you Hoot Owl,
For your beautiful poem here speaks much truth.  So often we ask for what has already been supplied but we were not ready to receive it.  I appreciate this one--God bless you,   David

Thanks David...I've found that God often gives me inspiration in the most unlikely places and at the most unexpected times...but always his inspiration is my blessing

So I shouted from the mountain top

"My child, simply look around"

When we are looking hardest that is when we do not see.

Ruth, a beautiful poem I loved this one, he certainly works in mysterious ways.
