My Millennium Marriage

On the first day of January,
On the first day of the new century,
I will marry the man of my dreams.
He is tall, dark and handsome.
He is gentle and caring,
Soft and sentimental.
He cries when I say hurtful things I don’t really mean,
His eyes water when watching touching movies.
He is just the man I have always had fantasies about,
You know Romeo come alive, but this time in my arms.
Our marriage will be a sacred bond,
It will never break; it is a match made in heaven.
So on January 1, 2000 I will change my name,
Live forever,
In his heart,
In his soul,
Wrapped in masked eternity.
