Listening to every heart

Small Confessions

‘Tis a small confession, but one the Lord will hear
when you learn of this, perhaps it’ll make things clear
for my heart is on my sleeve when music I do hear
as I’ve no voice to carry tune, ‘tho words I do hold dear.

I would like to sing, and carry tunes to heaven, true
but my voice cracks and breaks when I sing along with you;
I think it’s because the music, so pure, raises up my heart
while in my throat it there resides, and breaks the tune apart.

From the “Star Spangled Banner” to “Voices Raised on High”
it could even be from Neil Diamond, most songs do make me cry
for I strongly feel the passions, and I know deep the words’ intent
so I must sing the words silently, and thus be so content.

My other silent, deep confession, to you I’ll let be known
is someday my words to be writ in a song, and light be shown,
I know not what I’ll write, but someday the words will come
for I make up songs in the shower, where I like to hum...

So you will know when a shower’s song hits the old Top Ten
and if I’m lucky, you will know, my heart will be shown then.

Sunshine ! I declare ... it's the Shower Songs Of The Night that I carry to my pen.
I sing them ... then I write them while they are as fresh as the fragrance of the soap I'm still wearing.
Keep singing ... you are not far off-key !

There are so many beautiful poems set to music, soaring melodious words. You can write them.

This is beautiful, Sunshine! Be sure to let us all know when it happens!!

I also must sing to myself as I can't carry a tune. Except,of course, when I am by myself! My dog and cat must be tone deaf too, or very forgiving!
