streams of leaves
run down my face;

she hesitates,
casts a line into the river;

things move past me
with a never-ending
consciousness of pattern;
dappling air twists sound
into dabs of colour;

she lowers her head
& draws a finger along the paper;

I am the bird
skimming trees & streetlights;
I am the insect crawling
over these words;
I am the plump body,
lowered onto the grass;
I am the damp promise
of rain on the horizon,
glimpsed through stylish
bushes & hardy petals;
I am the wind,
fermenting rebellion
from upstart constructions;
I am the wary face,
angled to judge
with no provided evidence;

she hesitates,
looks away from the river;

I am this square of
blue & white meanings;
I am this pressure of grass leaves
against book & body;
I am this contraction of earth;
I am this squeeze
of muscles uphill;
I am this face, opened
to the wind;
I am this moment,
alive & constant;

she twirls in secret passages
of her brain;

I am a mind,
it's rivers and motions
of being;
I am a sound of a thought;
I am a flight of idea,
dipped in the stream
of now;
I am a grasp of all times
& all places;
I am an ignorance of nations;
I am a taste untaught
by books;
I am all senses at the point
of reaching the brain;

she yawns,
presses head to grass;

I am the wind, swirling branches
of trees;
I am the plump body,
lowered to the grass;
I am this mind,
curled up & afraid;

she closes her eyes firmly;

I am a moment,
eternally waiting.

This was a sweetly melodic voyage.  Thank you.

A wonderfully creative piece here, Sea...It is absolutely fabulous!    Love the format, and the last two lines are the bow on the package!

Seaangel,
That is a beautiful thought, isn't it
"The moment"
As Paul Verlaine says, The exquisite moment"
That's how I live
I loved this poem
It is exquisite
