Last week when I found this lovely garden alongside the information superhighway, I was moved to register and post a poem of my own.  I mentioned that I'm not a poet mainly because I'm insecure in general, not just about poetry.  (And who wouldn't be a little insecure about their own poetry after reading through Rod's back postings)  But I also mentioned that I'm not a poet because I feel a little guilty about my poetry.  On those occasions when I write, it is not out of any all-consuming need to write poetry, but simply a means to an end.  So the end to this means is an introduction of myself.  I hope that you read it with the poetic license with which it was written.  A poetic license which was suspended for a good six months over the whole dashing/charming thing, by the way.

I'm dashing and charming and love the sunrise,
I talk with my hands but I speak with my eyes.
I'm shy but I'm silly, I'm smart and I'm kind,
I think with my heart, not so much with my mind.
I want someone to hug and hold close by my side,
I want someone to talk to, in whom to confide.
I'm middle-aged now and I'm starting to soften,
I exercise daily but eat out quite often.
I like burgers and mexican, homestyle is good,
I'd eat pizza buffets all I can if I could.
I've played tennis for years, my new passion is dance,
If I have one true love, I would call her romance.

Quest -
Welcome to the land of insomniacs.
I liked your 'application'.
Interviews held nightly at Passions.

This line intrigued me:

'I talk with my hands
but I speak with my eyes.'

Nicely done.

Quest - this is a lovely poem! Honestly you have no need to feel insecure when you can produce work like this! By the way - thank you for the compliment, I am flattered, but, even at my best, I hardly qualify as an average poet!
