may I have this dance? your arm goes around my slender waist, you pull me tight, my body sways with yours, I feel your strength flowing through to my soul the music calls to me…take this dance, take this chance… do I dare? do I deserve a chance to grab for the golden ring? at least a few turns around the carrousel? I doubt, but do I dare say no, do I dare pass up this chance at happiness? I hear your urging, "reach, try, don't give up" ever the doubter, I still ask, what shall I do if I fall? for if I miss, the golden ring does go on round and round without me. do I dare, my love, risk it all and reach out take your hand and answer your question "May I have this dance?" you pull me tight, my body sways with yours… ©1999 Iloveit |
