The Roving Balladeer
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

The balladeer has a story to tell.
Listen as he weaves it well.
Of legend and rhyme he does chant.
The balladeer sings a song.

Of all the stories I have heard,
the best I've yet to hear,
fall from the tongue of the minstrel man,
the roving balladeer.

Life's legends and stories,
he weaves with the magic of lyrics,
set to strings set humming.
The balladeer strums his song.

Traveling across my heart
or sung on the poets page,
he weaves his magic stories,
the balladeer sings my song.

I listen for his melodies,
and harken when I hear
the songs falling gently from his lips.
The balladeer sings my song.

One would have to pack a lunch to travel across your heart, Marge, it's so big. Wonderful poem on an excellent topic.

Elizabeth - Thanks girl. I love the songs he sings.

WhiteDove - Yes, isn't he modest?
But, in all honest ... a great Balladeer !

Seymour - Yes, you are good at
(...ruomyes,syassihttahwemllet)
reading 'between' the lines, aren't you?

Balladeer - And I saved the best for last...
thank you, my friend for inspiring me to 'sing' this one. Pack your lunch !
