Horse Racing Cliches—A Triolet

Anything can happen in a horse race.
You pay your money and you take your chance.
You may set the pace, then end in disgrace.
Anything can happen in a horse race.

Once it’s in your blood, nothing will replace
Intoxicating risk, enhanced romance.
Anything can happen in a horse race.
You pay your money and you take your chance.

thats good, but I don't think troilets reqire that space in the middle. Or maybe I'm mistaken. But I always loved the horse races and this brought back that familiar feeling. you just want to win or lose.

I've been skiping school, it this triolet month?

Marti--Thanks for reading and the kind remark.

Wind--Triolets were one of the options that Miss Nan assigned this month.  I think that most triolets are written without the line break.  I'm not sure whether it adds to clarity in this poem or not.
Thanks for reading and commenting and pen us a triolet.  Please.  I enjoy reading your poems.

QJQ--Thanks for reading and commenting.  I grew up on a horse farm and as a sport, it seems to have gone out of fashion.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are still some horse racing fans out there.

I think there are LOTS of horse race fans - I know we've got a race track nearby - and the parking lot is always full...

This is a lovely triolet, Bridget.  It brings us right to the track - That's such fun.

Your technical points are nicely intact, of course - and your theme is great - Thanks for always being such a good sport, m'friend...

SmartChick--Thanks for reading and the kind comment.

Miss Nan--I'm amazed at all the poetry forms that you have presented to the class. I've enjoyed the workshop more than I can adequately express.
