In an upside-down garden

You told me a story.
About a far away land.
A land that seemed entirely,
covered with sand.
A land without water,
and a lot of sunshine.
A land that was yours,
a land that was mine.
The land where you grew up,
a land that you knew.
You knew all the stars,
and when the wind blew.
You knew all the sounds,
that happened at night.
But you never were scared,
you never had a fright.
You knew all the people,
the animals too,
I'm just sorry,
I didn't know you.
You told us all once,
about this special place.
The Texas Land,
a  land of grace.

Live a life of happiness

My great-grandpa grew up in Texas, he died this week. And I never really knew him.
