I see faces pass by, looking right through me.

And it makes me wonder what I'm here for-

this lonely and desolate place.

They're looking for more;

Something to grab onto.

They're calling out for someone.

I can hear them beckoning:

their voices barely audible.

Their whispers send chills down your spine.

And their faces are much emptier than mine.

I wonder what it's like to be so scared and alone.

Out there without anyone. Out there on their own.

They won't accept consolation. But everyone needs someone.

As the tears drip down their faces and fall into the waiting rain,

they look upward wanting so desperately to be happy.

With all promises broken apart, it's hard to keep an open heart.

Everyone seems like they want someone else to blame-

someone to step out into the flame.

I close my eyes and their world is gone. They all slip away.

Lonely people: don't let the days go by without finding purpose.
