Did you think of the others when you picked up the gun, Like your baby son? Did you think of your wife? What is she now to do with her life? Did you think of those you care for each day? Did you know they, too, would have to pay? What about your close friend; How is he to mend? Even the passers by, Would have never guessed you would choose to die. You may never have thought so, But you touched the lives of those high and low. Did you think of me? Great I thought you would be. Did you think of the guilt I would carry, Or the shame that would tarry? By doing this you forever changed us all. Our lives are still at a stall. We don't understand, What put the gun in your hand. Did you know this life was your only, When you left us all lonely? |

charity....that's a really good poem. i like how you put in what the people around him are going to go through, now that's he's done that to himself. and i like that you put in the question what made you put the gun in your hand, because that question is asked a lot when people commit suicide. why did they do it? it seems so unreal that someone could do that. but anyway, great poem buddy! |

Welcome to Passions.  Suicide is a tragic thing, something I have considered, tried, thought about, something I continue to contemplate on a daily basis. A boy at our high school just committed suicide, and although I never liked him, I did feel bad. I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss of a friend. ------------------ Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices. |
