You always knew what was best, Daddy
I should have listened to you
I’ve always been your little girl, Daddy
You always told me what was true

I just went out with some friends to have some fun, Daddy
I didn’t think it would be the last time
Why do people drink and drive, Daddy
They took a life that happened to be mine

I didn’t want to die for I’m only fifteen, Daddy
Still your little girl
I had my whole life ahead of me, Daddy
I’m still young to this world

I must leave this world now, Daddy
Please don’t cry and be sad when I’m gone
I’ll always be with you daddy no matter where i go, Daddy
Take care of yourself as well as sis and mom.

The guy who took my life, Daddy
Will get to live on for many more years
You’ll be proud of me when I tell you, Daddy
I didn’t drink one beer

Remember I’m watching you, Daddy
Making sure you’re alright and okay
I’ll see you in heaven soon, Daddy
I saved you a place today
Love,Your Little Girl

Welcome to passions!

Yeah, drunk driving sucks...i've lost two close friends to some a-hole who only got a minor neck injury, its not fair is it?  Life's full of creul injustices it seems.
Ok clear this up for me (i'm slow)  This poem cant be about you (literally), cause it gives the feeling that your dead, a fact that would make posting this poem difficult.

So, other than that, i really liked the poem, it reminds me of the insciptions on the graves of my friends.

Keep it up, and remember everyone gets theirs...

jennie, this is really good writing.  Sad poem for sure.  Many parents have lot children from reckless moments of being irresponsible.
Your poem should be required reading in all schools!
~~nice writing~~

yeah, well some ppl in this world are just jerks, huh? no brains.. no sense of decency.. it isn't so bad if it is JUST their own life, but usually, it isn't..
nicely said..

I really enjoyed your poem. It made me cry, I think that this poem should be read by all teens who think it is cool to drink and drive.

Yeah, this is so very sad. But everyone who has been affected by something like this knows what can happen, and not to let it ever happen to them... It doesn't make things better for the loved one you lost, but it just might save your arse in the future... great poem. Keep writing.

"We prefer to do things comfortably" said the Controller.
"But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin."
"In fact," said Mustapha Mond, "you're claiming the right to be unhappy."
"Alright then," said the Savage defiantly, "I'm claiming the right to be unhappy." -Aldous Huxley "Brave New World"
