I see you there,
Alone and hurting.
Afraid of what comes next
'Cause it can't be something good.

I feel your pain,
But my tears fall for you in vain,
For you know nothing
Of my care for you.

Together now in the same place,
So close, yet so far away.
As none but glimpses
Of your eyes I see.

Both afraid to trust
In one with power to cut so deep.
Fear of what lies ahead for me,
But bring us close,
We're both in need.

God why must it be this way?
I never have been one to say,
What is truly on my mind or in my heart.
But help us open up and trust,
Make a fresh start.

*I know that this is really rough and needs to be edited and revamped but I just had to put it on because it has been weighing so heavily on my heart lately. There is one person that I just want to be friends with so badly but we are afraid of getting close. Thanx for listening.

Aye your poem makes alot of sense to me, afraid to let a good friend become more because it can ruin the friendship.
