My Difference:

World, pitying, empty and harsh,
You've bound me from birth to you.
You've beat me, bent me, broken me,
While I struggle for what seems right,
And true.
Maker of men,
Breaker of hearts,
Taker of souls and minds.
You can't take me, I'm different.
Can't you see I'm different?
I'm not alone...
I'm not alone.

Think of me, and I'll stand beside you.
Know me, I'll hold your hand.
Live me, you're my difference...
You're what the world can't understand.

Firstly welcome to Passions and I hope that you like it here.

Now on your piece, this is quite interesting. I enjoyed reading it for the simple fact of the heartfelt emotions that you have described. A line like "You've beat me, bent me, broken me, While I struggle for what seems right." is something that I read and went whoa! You have displayed your feelings in this piece very well.

Nice job.

Indeed Welcome!     Some very powerful, sharp words in this piece.  You did indeed express your emotions very well.  Thanks for the exellent read and keep it up!

Thanks guys. I use to post on one of these boards... Long long ago, in a time before registration, under the name "Rabbit"... but I'm back here now, and again, because I simply can't stay away. Thanks for the encouragement.

this poem is great daysleeper.
i can relate to it as well.
i find the only thing that seperates me from the ever-growing cruelty of an
ill-understanding world is the
reality of my difference. without it, i would surely be swallowed uo in the
raging swell of society and fall into the likes of this world.
what or who does the world not understand?
you, a loved one, or something other?
in my eye, you are the author of masterpeices.

Son of Man-

Awww... thank you for the compliment. Actually the person who I wrote this about is the one that let me down in my reply to your poem "Forever in a While." Right now, I don't know who my difference is... maybe it's this online community... maybe it's someone in my future. I just have faith that will always be someone...
