This poem if for my ex boyfriend, he'll probly never read it but this is how I feel about my graduation day in regards to him - enjoy . . . Well my friend, We stand here today, This must be the end, I must be going away. Remember when we said forever, Somehow I always knew, We weren't meant to be together, Somehow I always knew . . . Yeah, so we broke up, And said Goodbye, I put a smile on my face, acting like a grown up, Praying that you'll see that I just want to cry. So it was done, But I still saw you, Smiling in the halls, pretending we wee no longer one, Tried to pretend otherwise but somehow I always knew . . . This day was going to come, And goodbye wouldn't be said, Everyone's got to march to the beat of their own drum, To my own demise I'm being led. Graduation day, People smiling, The band, they play, I lock myself in room, I feel like crying. You won't talk to me, In four months I graduate, You and I are no longer we, You look at me, your face a mask of hate. So in this poem you'll never read, I'm telling you goodbye, You won't be at my graduation despite my invitation, I must concede, I'm past the point of asking why. Now I simply accept, Your way of brushing away how you once loved me, Your friendship is all I want, to connect, And let the hatred you feel for me, just be. "The worst of what people do to one another is deceive. Because when you love someone you control their version of reality. If you lie to them that's like making them autistic so that what they believe is reality is in fact, not their true situation at all. |

WOW, AWSOME poem, i wrote a poem somewhat like this a while back but you definatly said it better than I. Gave me chills when i read it, very nice job "If there is anything the nonconformist hates worse than a conformist it's another nonconformist who doesn't conform to the prevailing standards of nonconformity." Don't look... you might see. Don't listen... you might hear. Don't think... you might learn. Don't walk... you might stumble. Don't run... you might fall. Don't make a decision... you might be wrong. Hoppy, Thanks for the compliment I really needed it. I'm contemplating putting this poem in with my invitation to him to my graduation, though it won't make a big difference. Great poem with great words. i really liked this. My boyfriend broke up with me the day (2-10-00) before our 1 year & 2 month anniversary. I am crushed. He won't even speak to me. He fell in love just as quick as he fell out of love. So it makes me wonder if he TRULY loved me. It took me a while to lovehim, and now it feels like it's taking me forever to stop loving him. He always said he wants to be friends no matter what, but how can that be if he just keeps pushing me away like I never existed. Guys say WE are the confusing ones with so MANY emotions, and feelings, but they are, too, or maybe they are just really dumb, and blind. I don't know, but I really liked your poem, and I am adding it to my favorite poems binder. Keep up the good work. Keep your chin up sweetie <hopefully I can follow what I say>. Life goes on. Stephani, I understand what you;re going through. I appologize for your breakup. My ex and I tried the friendship thing and one minute he was talking to me, the next second his father said he never wanted me to speak to his son again. For awhile Josh (my ex) defied him and spoke to me then one day he up and just stopped speaking to me at all and he won't tell me what he did. This poem really did bring tears to my eyes. I haven't seen or talked to my ex-boyfriend, my first love, since three days after Easter. Pathetic that I can remember that exactly. It hurts that we're not even friends. |
