I never thought I'd find someone
Who would watch Cinderella with me
And read childrens books to me over the phone
I never thought I'd find someone
Who would not only accept my childish ways
But love me for them
And late at night I lie in my bed
Curled up in my pink sheets
And think about you
The way you laugh
The smell of your hair
It makes me smile
When you moved here to this boring town
You were so beautiful
Everyone loved you
And I knew I didn't have a chance
How I loved the way you acted
Quiet, were you shy?
Wearing punk rock shirts with names like Rancid and Nofx
And that hat you always wore backwards
Remember the time I stole it off your head?
It's so hard to accept that you love me too
Sometimes I wonder why
You hold me close and stroke my hair
And tell me you want to look into my eyes
"I never have, and I want to see," you say.
But I won't let you
Eyes are windows to the soul, it's been said
And my soul is too fragile and weak to be analyzed Any further
And then you try to kiss me but I pull away
And giggle and tease you
You roll your eyes with an adoring smile
Love

Wow...I really liked this...it was really sweet and loving... It's nice to have someone like that, I bet.

You are so romantic! I loved the way your words seemed to just flow like into a story that was poetic yet simplistic as well. you have such a natural gift. Keep it up!

raven: this is a very good poem    i dont believe i've ever read any of your work in the forum before (though i could be mistaken)... i have to admit that i like the second half of the poem better, but i do see how you tie both parts together    good job...

This was great! For a few minutes I thought you were talking about me with the punk shirts and stuff. Anyway, great job.
