When I have breathed my final breath
When I have lost my will
When death has claimed my very life
When my body lies cold and still
Do not sink me in the grave
Where my body will reside
For I will still be here with you
An Angel at your side
I ask that you remember me
With smiles and not with tears
Think of me when life gets hard
And you are full of fears
Let my memory raise you up
From the depths of your despair
I have never really left
Can't you feel me here
Although my body's dead and buried
Gone, I will never be
As long as I am in your heart
And you remember me

Excellent, Hoot, and very true. As long as we remain alive in one person's mind, we remain alive...or, as writers, as long as one page of our work remains for someone to read, the same applies.

Very nice and oh so true...I tell my children all the time that no one is ever gone as long as we carry them in our hearts and always remember them....what more could anyone ask?

well done hoot!..Reminds me of a scene from A Shirley Temple movie called The Bluebird.
The children visit their grandparents (in a dream) and are surprised that they are alive and they say "Whenever you think of us, we wake up again".. (sigh)
