Of Kings and Poets

Who is king?
A modest man of little means
governing an island
in compassion
addressing subjects by name-
or this man
who rules the entire Earth
knowing neither islands
nor compassion?
True, both are rulers
Who is King??

What is poetry?
That which is born
from the heart of a man
schooled by a life hard fought
or the scribble
in ink from a scholar
of years?
Both is poetry, yes..
Yet one is to be sensed
The other to be merely read.

Excelent poem. Good thought provoking message. My thought.

Many people can place words together to provide information. A Poet breathes their own life and soul into their writing and thereby gives it life.
